LOCAL PICKUP IN WALLA WALLA, WASHINGTON

HOW TO BUY: Buy your plants online and pick them up in Walla Walla. Be aware that at this time I am not open to the public, but I do provide representative photos of each plant variety so you know what you are buying. I am happy to answer any questions and discuss the plants — send an email to the address at the bottom of the page and I’ll get back to you. Add your phone number if you’d like me to call you.

Step 1: Click on a category to see plants for sale. The number of available plants will automatically update with purchases, so the number you see should be what’s available. You will see representative photos of the actual potted plant so you know what you are getting, as well as information about wildlife value and plant characteristics.

Step 2: Add plants to your cart and pay electronically. You’ll get an emailed receipt, then a second confirmation email with information about how to pick up your plants. Check your email spam folder if you don’t see an email after ordering.

Step 3: The pickup location is near Stateline Road in Walla Walla, about 5 minutes from Walmart. You will receive an email with directions and my phone number. Call me to arrange a pickup time. No refunds after plants are picked up.

Delivery: If you need someone to deliver your plants, especially large quantities, I can provide referrals, but there will be a delivery fee set by the delivery person.

About the plants: Most plants available this fall are 1 gallon or equivalent. Many plants are in thin plastic treepots - tall and narrow to accommodate vertical root growth, and they are not usually measured in terms of gallons. The increased vertical root growth helps plants establish more easily once transplanted. These treepots do not stand up on their own because they are slightly narrower at the bottom, so bring containers to hold them. I do have some cardboard boxes, and a limited number of plastic crates that you can borrow. At my pickup area I will have a place to return pots and borrowed plastic crates. Donations of cardboard for weed control are also appreciated.

NEED MORE - OR DIFFERENT - PLANTS? If there is enough interest in a large order, there is still a short window of time to get many varieties of plants for fall planting. For instance, I am thinking of buying hazelnuts, but I need a large order. Send me an email and tell me what your wish list is for either this fall or for spring (I have a long wish list for spring), and I’ll see if I can get it.

CUSTOM ORDERS: I may be able to accommodate large custom orders, or if enough people are interested in a single variety I can look for that plant. Planting bare root plants in the winter or very early spring is a cost-effective way to plant large areas, and wholesale nurseries sell large numbers of bare root plants. I am monitoring inventory at several Pacific Northwest wholesale nurseries.

ATTENTION: I am selling healthy, well-rooted plants. I cannot make any guarantees. I am not responsible for plants after they are picked up; no refunds after pickup.
