Philadelphus lewisii (Mock orange)

50 available

Beautiful fragrant white flowers cover the shrub from May to July. The blossoms attract bees, butterflies ,and other insect pollinators. The white flowers attract nocturnal moths and butterflies like the western tiger swallowtail. Many small mammals and birds, including goldfinches, eat the tiny seeds. Grows to 12 feet tall and 6 feet wide, dry or moist soil, and prefers full sun to get the best flower production. This shrub is not grown that much in a garden setting, but I think it should be planted more. It’s an essential wildlife plant in a habitat garden or mixed hedge, and the orange-blossom-like fragrance is heavenly.

The plants I am offering are several years old. There are in larger treepots of varying size — equivalent to 2 gallon — and have developed a good root system.
