Beautiful and delicate spring blooming red and yellow perennial that attracts bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Grows 2-3 feet tall It prefers partial shade and needs consistent moisture. Good understory plant. Native American tribes have used this plant for medicinal purposes.
These were planted from the tiniest bare root plants, and I did have significant loss. I have some in shade and some in sun, and both grew slowly but well, although the plants in the shade had more dense growth. These columbines have mostly gone dormant, but all show new growth. 1-gallon pots.
